IDF soldier accused of supplying military information to Iran
An IDF soldier from the Home Front Command’s Rescue Brigade has been charged with passing sensitive military information to Iranian intelligence operatives for approximately a year in exchange for cryptocurrency, according to the Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet), Israel Police and IDF.
He was arrested in September following a joint investigation by the Shin Bet, Israel Police and Military Police. Investigators say he knew his handler was Iranian.
Military prosecutors filed an indictment today charging him with passing information to the enemy with intent to harm state security and for the enemy’s benefit, as well as contact with a foreign agent.
According to investigators and prosecutors, he shared information about his unit’s activities, IDF readiness and mobilization, including his own call-up when the war with Iran began earlier this year.
He allegedly supplied military base locations and coordinates and photographed interceptor missiles, military vehicles and American refueling aircraft parked at an airport in Israel.
The indictment also alleges that, before the war, he forwarded an alert from his commander to his Iranian handler, along with his assessment that it could signal the start of a war.
Authorities say he shared details about fellow soldiers and commanders, knowing the handler intended to recruit them for espionage.
According to the indictment, he directed the handler to “Kal Bakrav” (“Easy in Battle”), a Telegram group for young Israelis preparing to enlist, which the handler subsequently joined.
Investigators say the handler instructed him to install malicious communications applications for encrypted conversations and offered to buy him a basic mobile phone and a pistol.
The two allegedly agreed to use codes and prepare a cover story in case security forces discovered their contact. Prosecutors say he was also offered $200,000 to travel to Iran.
A military court extended his detention until November 12. He is expected to remain in custody until the conclusion of legal proceedings.
IDF demolishes homes of two men accused of attacks on troops
Troops, including combat engineers from the elite Yahalom Unit, operated in Beita near Shechem this morning and demolished the homes of Ibrahim Daoud and Zakaria Daoud, the military said.
The IDF accuses the two Palestinian residents of carrying out three explosive device attacks in Judea and Samaria in 2024 and 2025 that injured several Israeli security personnel.
